Extensive information on the use of cookies

Definition of cookies

Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store on the client (the browser) information to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or subsequently, even after days (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored according to user preferences by a single browser on the specific device being used (computer, tablet, smartphone).

Later in this document, we will make reference to all cookies and all similar technologies by simply using the term “cookie”.

Types of cookies

Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish between the different categories:

Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are essential for the proper operation of the site and are used to manage the login and access to reserved functions of the site. The lifespan of the cookies is strictly limited to the working session (deleted when the browser is closed). Deactivating them compromises the use of services accessible by login.
Analysis and performance cookies. These are cookies used to collect and analyze traffic and use of the site anonymously. These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, detecting if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow the system to be monitored and to improve its performance and usability. These cookies can be deactivated without any loss of functionality.
Profiling cookies. These are persistent cookies used to identify (anonymously or not) user preferences and improve your browsing experience. ResidenceMarche.com does not use this type of cookie.

Third party cookies

When visiting a website you may receive cookies either from the site visited (“owners”), or from websites managed by other organizations (“third parties”). A notable example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. It is part of the page visited directly generated by these sites and integrated into the host site page. The most common use of social plugins is to share content on social networks.

The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites operated by third parties. The management of the information gathered by “third parties” is governed by the relevant information to which reference should be made. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of different information and ways of managing cookies are shown below.

Google Analytics

ResidenceMarche.com also includes certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). In this case they are also third party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookie).

Google Analytics uses “cookies” to anonymously collect and analyze information on the behaviour of web site usage (including the IP address of the user). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes them to prepare reports on the activities on the websites themselves. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google analysis tool to track or collect personally identifiable information. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google, nor will it try to connect an IP address with the identity of a user. Google can also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out browser component provided by Google. To disable the action of Google Analytics, please refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
